4 Keys to Find Time for Your PartnerDec 14, 2023
Do you and your partner struggle to make time for each other? Is the lack of quality time causing you two to feel distant, or neglected? Here are 4 keys to help you find time for your partner.
First, find the compliment not the critique. When your partner complains about not getting enough time with you, it's really a compliment. They want to spend more time with you because they care about you! So, listen to what they have to say without arguing or getting angry.
Second, is to lose the excuse! It's about our choices, not our time. While you can't CREATE more time, you can however make better choices WITH your time. So If you feel like you can’t squeeze in to your day, all the things that need to be done, take that as a sign that you have too many things to manage! Prioritize what’s most important, and let go of the less important things.
Which brings us to the third key, which is to focus on the important, not the urgent. Most of our time is spent chasing the urgent things in our life. We’re much more prone to react to a phone that is ringing right now, than planning our date night that is 5 days away.
So ask yourself everyday, “What is the most important thing I can do today to make my partner a priority in my life.” Then GO, and DO that thing!
The Fourth and final key, is to formalize together time on the schedule.
Studies show we’re far more inclined to accomplish something, if we schedule it beforehand. So instead of winging it, plan out specific moments each day, where you know you’ll be 100% present & focused with each other.
